Ramon Tavares, Ambassador
Ramon is a lifelong entrepreneur and computer technology enthusiast. Most recently, Ramon founded Epoch Integration with Wally Trenholm and Vic Arora, to develop advanced network monitoring systems for corporate customers with enterprise wireless deployments. In 2006, Epoch Integration was acquired by Research In Motion (RIM), makers of BlackBerry. Ramon supports Sky’s the Limit’s business planning and aids in the annual delivery of the computers to the student recipients. Back to Top

Maurice Tavares, Ambassador
Mr Maurice Tavares, former President of the Fiber Optics Product Group, retired from JDS Uniphase in January of 2001. During his two year tenure with JDS Uniphase, Mr Tavares managed the division’s rapid growth with sales exceeding 1 billion dollars. His responsibilities encompassed owned or acquired product groups/facilities in Canada, the United States, Europe and the Far East as well as the administration of Joint Ventures. His prior work experience includes twenty three years with Digital Equipment Corporation with the last position held that of Vice President of Manufacturing and Distribution for the Americas, The Personal Systems Group. In this capacity, Mr Tavares was responsible for the manufacturing and distribution of Desktop, Server, Laptop and Personal Workstations for The United States, Canada, Latin America and the Caribbean. A graduate of Sir George Williams University/Concordia in 1966, Mr Tavares’ early career included 9 years with Microsystems International/Northern Telecom. A past Member of The Board of Directors of Digital Equipment of Canada, The Solid State Optoelectronics Consortium,The Ottawa Carleton Research Institute and a past Member of The Steering Committee for the High Technology Manufacturers Forum and The Federal Ministry Of Industry, Science, Technology and Trade : Photonics Sector Campaign. Rejean Marchildon, Ambassador
Rejean was STL’s 2009 Volunteer of the Year!Rejean has been a strong supporter of Sky’s the Limit since our inception and he deepened his involvement in 2007 by volunteering to assist with computer deliveries. Rejean has participated in several computer deliveries to student recipients currently enrolled in Regent Park’s Pathways to Education program. Back to Top
